BACK TO PORTFOLIOBeing single during the freezing winter, I would notice the looming idea of modern masculinity that floods social media. In the form of "alpha podcasts" and "relationship influencers", it was like the algorithm was trying to make me rethink what love is.
These content creators can be funny and their messages can provoke interesting dialogue, but when unchecked it sours the point of what love is. What I once thought was a beautiful thing was corrupted by these ideas of love being more of a transaction of "value" than a partnership built off of trust.
To detox myself I poured my heart and soul into these illustrations, letting loose all these toxic ideas onto the canvas, such as fear, corruption, possessiveness, self-worth, and all these other traits that make up this modern idea of love.
