BACK TO PORTFOLIOEVO has been a cornerstone of the competitive gaming world since 2002, with attendance and popularity skyrocketing with each event. Despite its success and recognition, the EVO logo, while iconic, feels dated after nearly two decades. With the e-gaming industry thriving and solidifying its presence in mainstream media, I saw an opportunity to explore a fresh, modern solution for EVO's branding.
Understanding the significance of EVO in the gaming community—where countless cherished moments have been born—I aimed to create a logo concept that honors its legacy while introducing a new direction for its identity. Although the official 2023 branding maintained the classic look with slight refinements, my design exploration seeks to reimagine the logo, particularly emphasizing its roots as a fighting game tournament emblem.
This concept explores the balance between tradition and innovation, aiming to resonate with both long-time fans and new audiences.
